We supported M who has Autism and learning disabilities and had been in a secure setting for over ten years. Initially our support started in May 2017 with M 1:1 in his father’s home for ten hours Monday to Friday. We also provided alternate weekend support and occasional overnight support. We worked with MAPPA, Humber CCG, East Riding Local Authority, forensic services and our housing partner to find a suitable property. We worked closely to redevelop a property in line with M’s needs and wishes. Throughout the process we ensured that M maintained control.
In July 2018 M moved into his home and was taken off the MAPPA agenda as of September 2018 and volunteers at one of our charity shops. As part of M’s Care Plan, staff have received training from clinical psychological from Humber Teaching NHS trust allowing us to effectively support M.
