Ings Plus, Hull
The Ings Plus Centre is based in East Hull. The centre provides a much-needed space for the community, and offers a range of services from food to training and support.
Food – Eating Plus, we have received funding from the Big Lottery to provide Food on the Run – a meals on wheels service. We deliver healthy and locally sourced produce from our meals on wheels service anywhere within a five mile radius of the Ings Plus Centre. We run a community café providing affordable, healthy lunches including gluten free. The café provides training in a commercial kitchen.
Support - We offer support in work placements and volunteering. Our First Routes programme, offers support in work placements and volunteering, employability skills, support to access college, attend job interviews support in the workplace, confidence and motivational support.
Training - We offer accredited training in catering and hospitality in our professional catering kitchen.
Sensory room - Our sensory room is a calming or stimulating environment with a large selection of sensory items from specialist lighting, music, cushions, fabrics to vibrating and squeezie items. The sensory room provides an area for individuals to explore senses in a safe, calming environment. The room can be hired for sessions for a small fee.
Rooms for hire - We have a selection of rooms available for hire during the daytime, evening and at weekends. The rooms are fully accessible with free parking. Equipment and refreshments are also available at a small cost.
Community Guardians - Our Guardians provide support in the community, running lunch clubs, events and help to keep areas in Hull clean and tidy.
Men in Sheds - A group bringing men together every Wednesday morning to work on projects such as gardening, maintenance and DIY.
