Access Fitness is the UK’s first specialist disability and mental health focused gym located at the Wellness Centre at the Concord Sports Centre in Sheffield.
Access Fitness is a unique partnership between Autism Plus, Sheffield United Community Foundation and SIV – Concord Sports Centre. We offer structured training programmes lead by our qualified Fitness Instructor that has a background in disability and mental health support.
Designed specifically for the needs of individuals with disabilities and mental health diagnoses so they can exercise in a more comfortable, welcoming environment. We have designed the space to be person centred, user friendly, easy to navigate such as colour coded footprints. We have the latest equipment and adapted communication tools. We create individual exercise plans that are fun and personal helping you access a healthier lifestyle.
As part of the gym each member will have their own personalised plans to encourage a healthier lifestyle. Members also have the option of either one-to-one support or to attend small exercise groups. Family members are also welcome to attend sessions.
An initial one off appointment for everyone using the gym. Includes instructions on correct use of equipment, a health and wellbeing check. We are always look at different exercises, advice and support including person centred activity plan. (duration: 1 hour)

A specialist one-to-one exercise support programme including a weekly exercise plan and nutritional advice to help you achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Gym based group sessions
A maximum of 5 people per session - get fitter, meet new people, make new friends whilst taking part in fun activities. Carers and family members are welcome.
