We are delighted to be helping people with Autism to find work in Scarborough. We are offering free support to people aged 18 and over with autism and related conditions to prepare for and sustain employment.
Support is available for people who: have autism or a related condition such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, live in North Yorkshire, are aged 18 or over, currently unemployed or are economically inactive (not currently actively job searching), whether claiming benefits or not.
Autism Plus is part of Action Towards Inclusion - a new partnership of over 50 organisations in the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding LEP area that aims to ‘connect’ with community members who are furthest away from work and training. This £7.6m programme is managed by Your Consortium and is part of the national Building Better Opportunities (BBO) programme that brings together significant funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF)
Dawn Trigg, a Key Worker on the BBO project said “We are really excited to be supporting people in Scarborough. Our personalised programmes are helping people to discover their strengths, skills and interests. We are helping people to build their confidence and make positive changes in their lives.”
The programme includes dedicated Work, Health and Wellbeing Coaches, courses in wellbeing and employment and advice around benefits and funding to help you in things like childcare and transport costs.
