William takes Gold in the Special Olympics!
William Scrope, aged 26 from Easingwold was selected for the Special Olympics Great Britain! William attends Easi Works in North Yorkshire and is supported by the Autism Plus supported living service at his home in Easingwold.
He made a splash by swimming for the Yorkshire and Humberside team, joining 2,600 athletes in Sheffield from 8th August to compete in the country’s largest multi-sports event for athletes with learning disabilities.
William has been busy training with the York swimming squad and at the Ampleforth College and Galtres Fitness Centre. He is competing in the 50 metre backstroke, 50 metre freestyle (crawl), 4 x 50 metre medley relay and 100 metre freestyle, across three days. Thanks to all the hard work and support William received a gold!! Well done to William from all of us at Autism Plus and Easi Works!
