What they do
Held on the second Friday of every month at St Edwins Church in Dunscroft. The aim is to provide more information, help and advice to families, with coffee and cake from 10am – 12pm.
After school club Bentley
A weekly term time only after school club at Bentley My Place, Askern Road, Bentley, every Wednesday from 5pm – 6.30pm. This gives an opportunity for children with an ASC and their siblings to make new friends with similar experiences. There are several separate areas , including sensory rooms to suit children of all abilities. As with all sessions at Little Rainbows, children remain responsibility of their carer at all times. There is a parent kitchen available for light refreshments.
After school club Conisbrough
A weekly term time after school club every Thursday evening from 4pm – 5pm at Fieldside Childrens Centre in Conisbrough.
After school club Thorne
A weekly term time after school club at the Fieldside Childrens Centre every Thursday from 4-5pm.
Saturday family days
Held on the last Saturday of every month 10am-12pm at Wheatley Childrens Centre. These sessions are open to the whole family. Children are able to play in a stimulating yet non judgemental environment with others who understand and tolerate their needs. The other children in the family can relax in an environment where the their sibling are not the main focus of attention, and many friendships can be made. This also applies to parents. Access to the sensory room can be booked on arrival.
Little Rainbows provide activities throughout the school breaks, from private play sessions to swimming and horse riding. In addition to these they arrange extra sessions during the longer holidays also. They also arrange trips and pantomimes, parties with entertainers, an annual picnic, ice skating and more.
Radar Keys are available to members for a small charge, to enable access to locked Disabled toilet facilities. Their library of books and DVDs are available to members on a short term loan basis. They have a comprehensive list of ASD related literature of which a list can be emailed out on request. They also have visual support software and equipment such as major buggies etc which are available for short term loan.
All members receive a regular newsletter keeping them up to date with Little Rainbows and ASC news.
