Community Café project needs your People’s Millions votes
Vote Autism Plus – Food on the Run!
For one day ONLY, on 26th November from 9am to midnight you will have the opportunity to change the lives of disadvantaged groups in East Yorkshire by voting for our ‘Food on the Run’ project at the Ing’s Resource Centre in Hull.
We’ve been selected as one of the finalist for People’s Millions, a partnership between the Big Lottery Fund and ITV to decide which community projects receives up to £50,000 of lottery funding.
We want to breathe new life into the Ing’s Resource Centre in Hull, which was once a valuable resource in the local community but is currently out of operation. We want to set up a community café and food delivery service from the centre for older, disabled and disadvantaged individuals and families in the area, to help improve their health and wellbeing.
All of the job roles within the café and delivery service including administration, couriers and kitchen staff will be filled by disabled and disadvantaged people. The delivery service will be similar to “meals on wheels” but with a twist, with meals prepared and delivered by people with autism and other complex needs using eco-friendly electric bikes.
The phone number to vote and show your support for this amazing and much needed community resource will be available on 26th November. Until then you can help spread awareness of the project and encourage votes by registering on the People’s Millions website using this link HERE.
Also keep a look out on the official Autism Plus facebook and twitter accounts for more news and updates. We need as many votes as possible on 26th November!
